OSAKA OSAKA OSAKA

Hi there! If someone is still looking at this blog... Finally I'm back in Osaka and almost one month has already gone. I'm adapting life here and still like 'gaijin', a foreigner, hahaha. I also really enjoy eating real Japanese food and especially, eat lots of takoyaki which is my favourite. But you know what, I lost 3 kilo already!!

I'm excited to start new life here. My aim from now on is that I try to do what i really want to do and achive it. It's not just about job and career. Starting a new thing is always really amazing and exciting. Anyway I have to start jobhunt here. I hope that I will be working somewhere in a next couple of months.

Cheers!

Reflection of Task3

I’m satisfied with creating the website this time even I did not have much time to work. Also I learned using technology to create a software for language learning is not difficult, but it is not easy--- I faced lots of problems creating the exercises and website as I wrote some problems on my blog. Yet, I think I could show good post activities asking the knowledge that students learned in the WebQuest. I think I also got good feedback from some colleagues. It was right that I tried to make the website simple and do not put many stuffs as Lesley commented me. It makes the website clear and easy to look at. However, I think I should put some graphics to make the design nice. Next, because I numbered the exercises, Owen told me that I do not have to put the activities in order. Actually, I also did not care about the numbering and I agree with that. Students do not have to follow the order and they can work on as they like.

This time I did not have much time to expand the site, but if I have another opportunity, I would add more activities about travelling as the WebQuest is about travelling Australia. It also should be a good idea to put some vocabulary list of travelling and some useful expressions for travelling. Furthermore, I would change the design using dream weaver in order to make the design beautiful.

How to access H drive from home

Actually it's not difficult to access H drive from your computer!

Firstly, you need to go to http://students.ed.qut.edu.au/resources/hdrive.jsp

Next, install VPN software (QUT Secure Servise Assistant) from the link on the bottom of the site.

After you installed the software, connect as off-campus connection.

Following that, login FTP with following the instruction on the site.

Finally you will see H drive folder on your window!

Some problems

I managed to access H drive from home and am trying to use Geocities on my laptop in order to make some changes on my website. But the page builder doesn't come up even I' ve already installed Java.... Keep trying and hope to change some parts soon (><)

Extented activities of WebQuest

I just put my extented activities online.

State of Origin

Took a breath with State of Origin 1 on TV, on 24th. This is great experience watching rugby here and touching local culture of eastern Australia. The match was a bit disapointing but I could enjoy the time with my housemates. I'm going to the third match in Melbourne! So excited! Go Maroons!

Keep going.....

Hi everyone. I'm trying to finish my webquest soon and thinking about the third assignment. Hopefully, I got a dreamweaver and now stand on the track... I found it quite well organised and not too complicated like I imagined before.

Hope that the tip i gave some people on the workshop will help doing their work even that might not be high level..(^^;)
